Tel Aviv Food

Tel Aviv holds pride of place as one of the world’s foremost happening cities. It is proud of its 24/7 pace and the wide array of culture on offer year round. Tel Aviv is the financial and business capital of the country and as such is sophisticated, daring, trendy and restless.

It is also located on the Mediterranean coastline, which lends a laid back holiday air to the “city which never sleeps”. The city’s cuisine reflects all this, along with many other aspects of this urban jungle by the sea. Tel Aviv is at once international and local, a city that celebrates life.

 

I have incorporated what to me are the main features of the city, into this book, hence the section titles. The collection of recipes presented in Tel Aviv FOOD are tried and tested recipes which I, a resident of this city, have served time and again to other residents of this city and indeed to visiting guests. All dishes are made with ingredients which are freely available at local supermarket chains, open-air markets and neighbourhood food shops, without having to traverse the city in search of that special ingredient. The recipes do not aspire to be ‘haute cuisine’, but rather the type of tasty dishes regularly made by busy Tel Avivians.

I hope you will enjoy using this book as much as I enjoyed creating it.
